Agriculture and Nutrition in Zimbabwe’s Rural Schools

In collaboration with It Starts With Soccer, Sisonke Trust transformed 10 rural schools in Hwange District by installing solar-powered water pumps and greenhouses. This initiative supports:

School Feeding Programs

Enhancing student nutrition and improving attendance rates are crucial components in fostering a positive learning environment. By ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals, we not only support their physical well-being but also encourage regular school attendance. This dual focus can significantly contribute to better academic performance and overall student success.

Agricultural Education

Our program focuses on teaching students about sustainable farming practices. We aim to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate the land in an environmentally responsible way. This approach not only benefits their immediate communities but also contributes to the well-being of the planet for future generations.

Income Generation

Helping schools generate sustainable income through the cultivation and sale of agricultural produce is an essential initiative. This not only supports the financial stability of the institutions but also promotes agricultural education among the students.

Expansion

More schools continue to actively join the program, significantly broadening its positive impact on youth education and development in various communities.
